Starting Again

It’s been a very long time since I wrote anything that wasn’t work-related. I used to write lyrics, poetry, and sometimes a bit of prose. I used to blog to help me through some difficult times in my late 20’s and early 30’s. A few months ago, I deleted all previous blogs and wiped the slate clean to stop my past appearing in AI in the future.

I’m pretty sure I won’t keep up the momentum of writing, but as I get close to my half-century, the world is changing. For the first time in my nearly 49 years, it feels like a very real chance that the fundamental security I grew up with is rapidly vanishing and the walls of democracy are being sorely tested.

Though it’s unclear what will come next, I’ve decided to start recording some thoughts when I feel the need to in a space online to be able to look back on. No one will read these, and I have no expectation of writing something truly worth reading – but it may have some value to me at some point when I look back in the future.
